The Future of Rugby

reimagining rugby

Our Vision

The DMV Rugby Series is about more than organizing tournaments—it is about building a stronger rugby community. While we all compete fiercely on the field, rugby has always been about far more than the final whistle. It is built on friendships, respect, shared experiences, and a community that supports one another.

Our vision is to reconnect that spirit by creating outstanding rugby experiences where coaches share ideas, players build friendships across clubs, parents enjoy the day together, referees feel valued, and volunteers know they are part of something bigger than a single event. Together, we can strengthen rugby throughout the DMV and grow the game for future generations.

Our Vision is to build a calendar of events that becomes a tradition throughout the region—bringing together youth, high school, collegiate, club, and social rugby communities under one shared purpose.

One Series Winner

The DMV Rugby Series is unique in that it brings together four tournaments into a single competition, allowing teams to compete for the coveted Series Championship. Rather than being decided by one weekend of rugby, the overall champion is determined through consistent performances across all four events.

Our goal is to crown not only the best rugby team, but the team that best embodies the values of our sport. Throughout the series, teams are rewarded for respect, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship alongside their performances on the field. We believe championships should be earned through outstanding rugby played in the true spirit of the game.

A Better Tournament Experience

We strive to organize tournaments that are enjoyable for everyone involved. That means:

  • Building a season-long tournament series that crowns an overall Series Champion
  • Rewarding rugby's core values by recognizing respect, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship alongside performance
  • Creating competitive, enjoyable matches through innovative formats that discourage lop-sided blowouts and keep every game meaningful
  • Delivering exceptional events that are safe, well-organized, family-friendly, and welcoming to players of every ability.
  • Developing players beyond tournament day through quality coaching, educational resources, international experiences, and academies, and clear player pathways.
  • Connecting the rugby community by helping players and families find local youth and adult clubs, make new friendships, and become lifelong members of the game
